The ACCESS College Foundation is committed to the betterment of our students and to providing them with the tools necessary to be successful in their educational endeavors. Our goal is to ensure they are able to make informed decisions about post secondary education and to provide academic, financial, and personal support while in college. ACCESS uses a collaboration of human and financial resources to help students realize their dream of becoming a college graduate.

ACCESS Services at I.C. Norcom High School:
ACCESS services begin when a student enters the 9th grade and continues through 12th grade.  ACCESS through the advisor, Mrs. Jordan, works to develop a personal educational plan for each student at I.C. Norcom High School so that their knowledge and aspirations for pursuing education after high school is achieved as well as graduation.

The 9th and 10th grade program specifically provides workshops that introduces students to the “Four A’s” as a path to college.  The workshops are geared toward showcasing the importance of: maintaining good Attendance, discovering one’s Attitude towards life, Academic excellence, and propelling post-secondary educational planning into Action.

Students in the 11th and 12th grade are guided through the complicated college application/admission pipeline while engaging in meaningful conversations focused on “best fit” opportunities available to students.  To assist in overcoming various financial barriers that may occur for both students/parents, Access offers fee waivers for SAT/ACT testing and college applications or fee payments as necessary.  Additionally, ACCESS also help families file the FAFSA form and walk families through the financial aid process all the way to graduation.

The ACCESS Advisor at I.C. Norcom High School is Mrs. Nicole Jordan. The ACCESS office hours are Monday- Friday from 7:30 am until 2:30 pm. You can contact Mrs. Jordan by phone at (757) 393-5442, ext.19116 or via email at [email protected]
